City Montessori Schools were founded by Late Patmeshwari Prasad Joshi in the district of Barabanki in 1977 with the vision of promoting the all-round development of the region.

Concrete results of his vision were reflected in the years 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, and 2005 through the establishment of branches in Bahraich, Gonda, Balrampur, Tulsipur, and Utraula respectively.

With the aim of providing higher education to thousands of students and fostering cultural, educational, and social reforms, special provisions for advanced learning were also made by him.
